Because of dissatisfaction with 2015 Jakarta Book and Education Fair organizer, Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) plans to cooperate with publisher in order to provide discounts for Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) holders.
It looks like I will ask Bank DKI to cooperate with Gramedia in providing 10 percent discount for KJP holder
Ahok admitted will ask Bank DKI to cooperate with book publisher such as Gramedia. The cooperation is asked to provide discounts up to 10 percent for KJP holders.
"It looks like I will ask Bank DKI to cooperate with Gramedia in providing 10 percent discount for KJP holder," told Ahok in City Hall, Tuesday (7/28).
Jakarta Book & Education Fair 2015 Opened for KJP HoldersPreviously, Ahok hoped the discount will be provided in 2015 Jakarta and Education Fair. But apparently, the price was more expensive than market price. This condition makes Ahok disappointed because the KJP recipient for this year only can spend their money at the event.
"Supposedly, the price in the event should be cheaper and give many prizes. But IKAPI is different, instead of giving Rp 5,000 cheaper they prefer to give Rp 5,000 more expensive than market price," he told.
According to him, if the students get discount, their money could be saved for future needs. "In a year, the students could save Rp 2.4 million. After they graduate, the saving could be used as capital, buy notebook, or used for various needs," he revealed.
